Deadline: ‘Halo’: with BENTLEY KALU Gets Premiere Date, New Trailer.

The war against The Covenant has begun in the the full-length trailer for Paramount+’s upcoming Halo series, based on the popular Xbox video game franchise.

During the AFC Championship Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals, Paramount+ dropped the latest look at the series, full of Easter Eggs for gamers, and its premiere date. Set to debut on Paramount+ starting Thursday, March 24, Halo stars Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief, the Spartan in the middle of an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as The Covenant.

Master Chief, who is “humanity’s best weapon” against the invading alien race, was “enhanced an trained for one purpose: to win this war,” says Natascha McElhone’s Dr. Halsey. The trailer also gives a first look at Paramount+’s take on the main antagonists of the Halo franchise and Master Chief’s endeavors on the Warthog.

The latest clips also offers looks at Jen Taylor’s return as Cortana, additional stars Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, Charlie Murphy and Danny Sapani. Also featured are Ryan McParland, Burn Gorman and Fiona O’Shaughnessy.

As a dramatic cover of Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight” swells, the trailer concludes with a bloodied Master Chief delivers the final line: “Find the Halo, win the war.”

Produced by Showtime in partnership with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and 343 Industries, the series stared production in February in Budapest.

The road for the television adaptation of the beloved Xbox video game franchise has been a long one with numerous turns. The series was initially set at Showtime then moved to Paramount+. Additionally showrunner Steve Kane will exit the series after the first season.

Halo reinvented how people think about video games and has grown into a global entertainment phenomenon, having sold more than 77 million copies worldwide and grossing more than $60 billion in lifetime sales worldwide.
